Implementing Sales Order Status Query in Copilot Studio with Microsoft D365 F&O

Hi, I am currently implementing Copilot Studio along with Microsoft D365 F&O.

I have added an X++ class that returns the sales order status. Then, on Microsoft Copilot Studio, I added a topic to get this response via Copilot Sidecar on D365 F&O.I am getting a response by starting like this: I enter "order status," then it asks for the sales order number. After I enter the sales order number, it tells me its status.

Now, when I write "What is the status of Sales Order Number: 012676" then, instead of asking for the sales order number (because I already entered it in the initial question), it should answer with the status of my entered sales order number (012676 in this case).

Is there a way to do this?

Hi,

Great question. Copilot can understand words very well. I have seen the same behavior where a number is not recognized directly as an answer for a variable. I have created an example to change the theme color of the client. Then the word for the color is directly recognized as input for the theme variable. Maybe you can add a step to extract numbers and see if that can be used directly as input for a variable. I haven't checked this myself yet.
