One Target License Plate for multiple work with multiple items

Hi,

I need to use a single target license plate with multiple works with multiple items. But when i assign the same target licences plate to multiple works system throws error "the target license plate id is not valid".

I had a scenario to put multiple items form multiple work in a single tote and i am using target license plate for that.

Can a target license plate be assign to multiple work with multiple items. if yes what configuration are required. or how can i achieve the scenario above.

Note: Same target license pate can be assign to multiple items in same work.

If the LPs are in the same location and for the same Load, you could use 'Consolidate license plates'.

Hi Guy,

This will be fine for inventory purposes.

But we need this during sales picking/putting processes.

In the second scan (if the item is in another work) system does not accept the same LP.

Add a second Pick/Put pair to your Work template. The first pair become a Pick and a Put to a 'Staging' location. The second Pair is a pick from the Staging location to the outbound dock.

Get both LPs (on different Work (but the same Load)) to the staging location, and you should find you can consolidate them on to one LP. The work will also be merged. Then you can complete the final Pick/Put to pick all the items on the consolidated LP.

In fact my setup includes two pairs of pick-put. first pick-put is from bulk to a sort of cart (bins are defined as LP, and they are pre-labeled e.g. Bin ID) and second is from cart to packaging location. When I try normal pick, I can not put two items from different works into the same LP, the system is not flexible as we want. If I try cluster pick, second pick always uses the LP from the first pick of that work. I can not put two items from the same work into two different Bins, as they have the same WorkId.

I have started to think, if I should try to use bins as locations instead of LPs. That may be more flexible and user directed.

You might also have some success with the mobile device menu item called 'Movement'.

You have to be a bit clever with how you go through the flow. When asked for the 'To Loc/LP', enter the LOCATION which contains the LP you want to merge onto. Then enter the LP on which you wish to put the items.

Hi Arslan,

Just wanted to update you on what I had been finding out. 'Consolidate LP' (mentioned in the blog post above) was no good for a scenario I was testing (since I was merging LPs for same Load but different shipments). Did you discover why it didn't work for you?

I also found that the option to use the 'Movement' menu item is not there in standard AX. This function only works for consolidating LPs in a picking process because I have the AWAX product installed!

I have the same requirement in a production scenario. need to pick items from different WHS Zones with different works and consolidate them in the staging location with teh same LP before putting everything in the prouction input location.

any news?
