Updating Opportunity Record on Lost

Hi

I have created a competitor lookup field for my opportunity main form.

I want this to be populated if the opportunity is closed lost and the competitor added.

I know out of the box you can't do this with standard work flows so I have tried to use flow to do this but not been able to.

Does flow allow you to do this but I have just not got the flow right

or

Do the same rules apply once the record is won you can't edit even with a flow?

How do other people view competitors against lost opportunities?

Thanks so much I was half way there but my flow wasn't correctly set (for a non dev, I'm still struggling a bit with them) and if it wasn't for people like you I would have given up!
