I am setting up the Purchase Order Processing in Microsoft GP 2015. Where can I purchase pre-printed forms that are
compatible with the software?
SSRS is a very good option. We have several clients combining that with EI Dynamics to schedule the emailing of reports. You make the report really pretty using SSRS and then schedule emailing using EI Dynamics.
Hi David-
I know, I have to watch myself. :) Report Writer has its place in the GP world...I just don't like it.
After moving tons of reports and all of the forms from Sales, Purchasing and Field Service to SSRS, I'll never go back to the clunkyness of the Report Writer and the Word templates.
I build a view for the data, make the report in Visual Studio, upload it to SSRS and I'm done. It just so much faster.

Hey Joe
Don't get too negative about the built-in report writer. I know how to make amazing looking reports with it.
For example: the Business Activity Statement reports for Australian GST which matched the official government report layouts.
With a little bit of effort you can achieve amazing layouts. Yes, it does have limitations, but it is much better than many give it credit for.
Also, it is still needed to gather data for Word Templates if you use that approach.
I have always found it faster and simpler to keep report generation inside the GP application rather than using external tools.

David
Hi Lisa-
There are lots of options to make really nice forms out of GP. Pre-printed forms really aren't a thing anymore.
In GP, there is a built-in report writer tool to make some decent looking forms that just print on regular paper from a laser printer or export to PDF. They're not great and are pretty blah.
Another option is to use something like SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS for short, you get this with your SQL Server licensing) to make some AWESOME forms. There is an add-on for GP from a company called Rockton Software called Dynamics Report Manager. This lets you replace ANY form or report in GP with something better from SSRS. I recommend this to everyone.
I recommend the SSRS route because you can customize them like crazy, they never break when you do upgrades and they just look nicer. I have some examples on my website if you'd like to take a look.
I hope this helps a bit.
Joe
You can make very fancy documents with the built in report writer. Or use Word Templates.
I would get GP Reports Viewer from https://www.flex-solutions.com and print professional and colorful POs and SOs that you cam email.
Hello Lisa,
Did you printed existing PO Document Report? You can print it in white paper or send the email.
Thanks much
Sandip
