How to Compare Security roles to determine the conflicting permissions (menu items access)

Hi All,

I have two roles which are having conflicts on the menu items permissions on various forms in D365FO. I want to resolve the conflict issues by first comparing the security roles in D365FO and establishing where the permissions are conflicting on the menu items.

I have gone to Security configuration and clicked on the Audit trail button under Data on the action pane.Filter the 2 roles and compared the roles. The issue is that the role is showing that the they are Unique all though they might have the same duty and privilege as shown in the screenshot below.

My question is, is there a way to compare the differences between the menu item permissions between 2 roles to establish conflicts in D365FO

    Hi Alexio,

Can you explain what exactly you mean with conflicts? Is it about segregation of duties or a desired user license level?

Hi Osman thanks for the response,

i am comparing custom roles created from the front end. We need to make sure that these roles do not conflict since they have to be assigned to  1 user

    Hi

It is not uncommon for standard roles. If you are trying to have completely separate roles, you must create them from scratch. And standard reports can not give you such comparison.

Why do you want separate them completely?
