Setup for Fee Percentage of Construction Cost Project / Cost Plus Project

Hi all,

How does the D365FO Project and Accounting able to handle Cost Plus Contract Project ?

Wanna know how D365DO can be setup, and which project type should be chose for cost plus contract project.

Appreciate if anyone can guide me or let me know the standard version is not able to handle which may need further customization for this.

    Hi Sam,

    The type of project that you create for a project contract determines the method that is used to invoice project customers. You can change a project contract and the related project, but you can't change the project type.

    Regarding the project types in project management and accounting and their uses, you can view them in the link, and choose the appropriate project type according to your needs.

    Also, cost-plus contracts are mostly used in construction projects, and examples of typical time and materials projects in the blog below include professional services and construction projects. You can check out this article for a brief overview.
