Setting up Geofencing for people in the field. What is Woodford/Resco?

Basically a two part question.  Here is my scenario.  i have D365 Field Service and the App on iPads.   My regional inspectors visit facilities, it is not a scheduled event and nor are they assigned individual facilities.  What I want to happen is

Inspector enters a geofence around the facility

Alert pops up on the iPad from the Field Service App with a form I built in D365 for them to fill out about the inspection

They leave the geofence

I need a report of every inspector that has entered and exited a geofence and when they did it.

I have tried installing this solution on D365 Field Service and something called Woodford/Resco keeps coming up.  What is this?  Is this a separate thing I will need to purchase?  From what i can tell it is expensive.  Is there a way I can do what I want inside Dynamics 365 WITHOUT having to purchase anything extra?

I have the same question (0)

First of all, if you have a Field Service license, everything is covered! You basically have 2 approaches to implement the above.

#1: Use the current FS App

#2: Use the new FS App (Power Apps-based)

    Setup

Once one of the above apps is running, refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/geofencing to implement your geofencing requirement and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/mobile-push-notifications to send the push notification. Another geofence to kick off the end-of-visit logic.

The inspection itself is not a standalone "thing", it's tied to a work order (specifically a Work Order Service Task). The work order and its booking are used to capture the surrounding data, such as start of job, end of job and much more. I don't know your exact business, but if it's recurring inspections you could also look at agreements that can auto-create an inspection work order based on a predefined schedule.

    Hi Mattjo,

You can use the Geofence Alert solution.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/geofencing#use-push-notifications-with-geofencing

Field service mobile is included in your Field service license.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/install-field-service

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/field-service/mobile-2020-power-platform

    Hope this helps

    Best Regards
