Microsoft Dynamics Word Add-on

Client got a new laptop and went to print invoices. What comes up is some Word Template that looks nothing like their original template. The Word Add-On is installed but when I go into Options in Word and check the Com-Addins it is not listed. I can click the Add button but what file am I looking for and where is it?

In MS Word, if you click on File > Options, then click on Add-Ins, you should see 'Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-in for Microsoft Word' listed under the Active Application Add-ins.

If you don't see it, or it's under the inactive add-ins, at the bottom of the Add-Ins window, next to 'Manage:', select 'COM Add-Ins' and then click Go..., here you'll see a list of add-ins that are available. Find and mark the Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word, then click OK, which should at least add it to the list of inactive add-ins.

When the add-in is enabled, in Word, you'll see a 'Developer' tab (which you may also have to manually add to see it in Word) and under that Developer tab, will be a 'Microsoft Dynamics GP Templates' section, with buttons such as 'Field List', 'Add Source' and 'Remove Source'.

In GP, under Reports->Template Management there are no templates under SOP Blank Invoice Form on the newly updated production server. On our test server it is there. Is this pointing to some docx file somewhere? If it is where do I find it?

    Hi Richard,

You can probably find some information in this blog for some troubleshooting tips:

    community.dynamics.com/.../template-option-in-report-destination-window-when-printing-documents

Make sure to test with the original/canned template first.

Also clear the %temp% folder on that workstation.  (Start | Run | %temp%)

    Hope that helps.

I put in a support request for this yesterday and so far no one has picked it up. Can prod someone to contact me about this?
