Project ID in Purchase Order

Hi..

I created a purchase order by mentioning Purchase ID in General section and included 1 item line and saved.  So in the line details also it is showing project id.  Now i realized that i have to stock the material in warehouse.  So i have to remove the project id. But system is not allowing to delete the project id from Line details.

Another case is i created Purchase order without project id.  Now i want to include the Project Id. But When i look into line details Project ID part is disabled.

How can i add/remove project  id when i edit purchase orders like this situations. ?

RE: Project ID in Purchase Order

Hi David thanks for the reply

As you quoted (The ProjId value can be removed of non project based lines within the Purchase Order), i tried removing projid value from the line in a project based purchase order.  But it is saying 'Project must be specified'.  Is it possible?

Also if i forget putting proj Id in purchase order header there is not way to make it a project based purchase order?

Can you please explain the last sentence in you reply (about financial distribution)

RE: Project ID in Purchase Order

Please specify the version of AX you are using as this functionality has changed between versions of AX.

    For AX 2012 -

In order for the user to enter a ProjID on a Purchase Order line, a ProjID must be specified on the Purchase Order header.

This ProjID does not need to be the same projID as the value on the Purchase Order lines.  This indicates that this as a project based Purchase Order and is the defalut value for new lines.  You do not specify a ProjID on the purchase order line. (The ProjId value can be removed of non project based lines within the Purchase Order)

Additionally, if there is a ProjID on a Purchase Order line the distributions can be split between projects within the Financial Distributions.
