    Hi Shabir Ahmad ,

Let's discuss first; why this requirement is required to set this field editable.

Are you facing any such cases where users are creating production orders in system and later just left it unused which is ultimately increasing number of documents in system but without any proper record ?

    Best regards,
    Sourav Dam

    Sourav Dam,

Thanks for your reply, sometimes, it is our need to change it.The requirement was given by production department to me, as i checked this field was extended data type and i was not able to make it editable or change it.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi Shabir,

Understand the requirement from production department. You need to let them know that we can't change the created date as it is the date when the order was created (Once setup, no changes). If they don't like this behavior, they can always create another production order and delete existing one. This requirement has come up from some of our customers too, does come up during data migration but we don't modify / change created date. If you are not able to convince production department users, leverage hierarchy (IT) and avoid the change. If users are using created date for some other reason, a new field can always be added but it additional maintenance, reporting, customization etc.

Please know that in AX2012, you may be able to find a way (customization in AX + SQL) to somehow update the created date time but it's not worth it and not the practice one should go for. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
