When I try to import an XML file from one user's workspace to another, I get an error message like: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. since the last D365 update. Does anyone have an idea about this because the message is not at all clear. Thank you.

Here is the screenshot of the error message

    Hi Pat,

When looking at the error message, I think you are using Dynamics 365 F&O. Can you elaborate on what exactly is in this personalization? You are talking about an XML file. Was the file created before the update and stored externally? What exactly was the update about?

    Hi André,
Thank you for your quick reply.
    I am indeed in D365 F&O.
The XML file contains the workspace of user X that I'm trying to export to user Y. So I export user X's workspace from D365 which I save on my local computer and then I try to import this workspace for another user Y. When I try to import this XML file without performing any manipulation, I get this error.

Thanks for the additional details, Pat. Can you tell us if the XML file was created before the update and imported after? Or was the XML exported after the update?

Hi André, Thanks for your message and sorry for my late reaction as I was on vacation. Indeed, the file was imported before the update and imported after.

    Hi Pat,

I hope you enjoyed your vacation. I think you made a small typo and you meant exported before the update? If that is the case, can you try to export it again and retry? Some differences in an update might cause a conflict.

The problem has been reported to Microsoft because the import is working randomly. Thanks

We are experiencing the same issue and has critical impacts to our processes.

    1) In the sandbox go to System Administration > Personalization > Personal Views
    2) Filter down to workspace view. You will know it is a personal workspace by the "View Name" saying "Standard View"
    3) Select "Copy to users", select a user
    4) Click "Copy"

Issue: We receive the error below and the workspace is not copied to the user. This seems to have started to occur after we upgraded to version 40.
