How to convert Extended Data Type name to Type ID?

Hi,

Is it possible to get type ID from EDT name? The functionality is the same as the typeId(AccountName) but using as text instead, i.e. "AccountName".

Thanks,

Paul

    Thanks Jacob. Actually it just return the EDT ID same as Global::extendedTypeName2Id, not the numeric ID (type ID).

    But I did a conversion using this logic and it works:

    TypeId = (EDT ID << 16) + 11

    You might wonder why I need to convert because the instrinsic function typeId() can't accept a literal string, i.e. enclosed in quotes or from a variable.

    Regards,

    Paul
