Please suggest on various options to configure Parent and Child Organizations (Customers). The Child Organizations are mostly based on Geography but sometimes have different TradeAgreements than the Parent.

Is there anyway apart from using the relationships in GAB?

You have Invoice account / Order account, which could give you a parent with multiple children. It also supports the children having different pricing to the parent.

However, it is very specifically for ensuring invoices are posted to the parent account. If you don't want that, it's not really suitable.

Thanks Guy. I'm looking for managing Customers hierarchy and not only at the invoice level.

For Example: Kinder Care is a Customer operating at different locations. KinderCare Texas and KinderCare NY have different details to be taken into consideration when generating a Quote. However, When reporting, the revenue generated by all the locations have to be summed-up to the parent org which is KinderCare. This helps in knowing the true worth of customer.

Financial dimension Customer value, and the through reporting calculate the correct revenue would be solution proposal for our clients.

(Custom build report, or maybe with Management reporter try to generate the report based on the main accounts)

If you find other easier ways please share.

    Hi Andrej

How do you relate the customers to extract data in reports? Can you please elaborate what you mean by "Financial dimension Customer value,"

Well it would be a report structured by financial dimension, so management reporter would push the columns by the defined financial dimension. Attach the financial dimension to the customer/customer group and then it will post with every transaction to enable you to report. So all of the geographical locations of KinderCare set as different customers all receive the financial dimension KinderCare so they are all considered the same from a financial dimension reporting perspective.

You could also look at the chain field to link them together, although the weakest option of those suggested.

You never really said whether there is a real difference and what drives the difference on the quote, but you should look at setting the locations up as delivery addresses and then you would have one customer account - depends on the details of the requirement there.

With Financial dimension Customer was meant (I think) that a new dimension can be created with link to the customer table (this is std. functionality). Then this dimension is available everywhere eg. on the customer master, and you put same HQ customer number on all customer accounts within the same organization.

These dimension data will transfer to GL transactions where you can you reports to extract financial reports.

    Hi DAXCRM,

Creating a Financial Dimension for Customer sounds like one solution. I do not think having the locations as different delivery addresses quite hits the requirement, because you say some of these locations have different prices.

But tell me, when you deliver to KinderCare Texas, do you invoice KinderCare Texas or KinderCare?

Does the Company Chain in the Sales Demographic fast tab of Customer master meet your needs?

Hi Guy, Thanks for your response

Sales is done at operation center level. So, answer to your question is KinderCare Texas will be invoiced.
