Report not printing in full

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I have a report which, when printed to screen, displays in full and display at the top "page 1 of 1." If I print preview the same report, or actually print it to a printer, the report then displays "page 1 of 2" at the top but only prints the first page. The report extends beyond 11", so it makes sense that it would need 2 pages when printing to paper, but why does only the first page print and not the second?

Thanks,

Stephen

What exactly is not being displayed? The Header section (possibly some values that should display at the top of the page) or a grid you have in your report that is not repeating it's columns' header? Can you edit the report's design in Visual Studio? You will need to perform some small changes on the Groups you have in an Advanced mode view, or setup some properties for the Header.

The Header and as much of the body as can fit on one page is printing, but the rest of the body and the footer are not. Those should be on page 2.

Ah, I understand, so it's actually not printing on the paper. Can you try to export to PDF and how that works?

The PDF behaves the same, cutting off after one page despite saying "page 1 of 2"

What is the Page Size of your report? Is it the standard 11in/8.5in?

Is this the only report causing this issue? And, is it actually a custom report or a standard one?

Both the interactiveSize and pageSize are standard 8.5"x11". And yes, this is the only report. It is customized, and the standard version of the report prints all of the pages. I've compared the differences and am at a loss as to the cause. There's a few extra fields in the table and some extra details below, but the rest of the report is the same. Do you know of any property that would keep the report from printing all of the pages?

Not aware of any settings that would cause this behavior. The only item that can hide items to be displayed on second pages are the information being repeated, and you can do this from the Advanced mode. But in your case it sounds like you are not getting some rows in the table as well, right?

Correct. If there are more rows in the table than can be displayed on one page, they will not display. Everything cuts off after one page regardless of the object type.
