Turn on Module for Company - Ax 2009

We have an old version of AX 2009 with multiple companies.

I have been asked to turn on a module that exists in our main company into another company.

So it is already installed.

How do I add a module to a company that does not have it?

They are specifically looking for fixed assets.

    Hello,

    The module installation is global in nature but configuration is company / legal entity specific. You mentioned that FA is already used in one company and now you want to add in another company.

    What you need to do is start with configuration of the FA in the company where it doesn't exist, once configurations are setup, you can then proceed with transactions / reporting. Your best start would be to take a look at existing company, get a confirmation from business that they are ok using same configurations / setup and then port them over. It's all with in your existing company to start with.

    We have already been using the virtual company for about a year.

    So the data is already there.

    We just want to know if there is a way to add a module to an existing virtual company.

    If you already have virtual companies and that's what you use in existing company for Fixed Assets, then you should try to add the new company as part of virtual company and see if data shows up as you see in existing company. Try this in non-production environment.

    If your existing company doesn't use FA setup's based on virtual company/tables, you have to review if you can covert it into virtual tables and then share it across multiple companies.
