Problem posting inventory recalculation and closing. Connection is busy with results for another command.

We started receiving this error just recently while attempting to recalculate or close inventory in batch.

Object Server 01: The database reported (session 14 (user)): [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0]Connection is busy with results for another command. The SQL statement was: "CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[sp_PreCloseNonFinTransfer]

I've traced the problem back to the method syncDBStoredProcedure in the class InventCostPreCloseNonFinTransferHelper. It attempts to drop a SP and then creates it the next line. It appears that the drop is still going on when the create is called. I've tried various things such as throwing a 60 second sleep in between the lines just to see if it works but I still receive the error. I've debugged it and I don't see where any new customizations may have been introduced that would affect this.

Has anyone ran into this or have any suggestions? Not running in batch is not an option as it takes much too long.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you find it reasonable that there is a drop-create logic for a stored procedure within the system's business logic? I didn't check the code there yet but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me and it definitely is not a common pattern. Is it custom code calling the InventCostPreCloseNonFinTransferHelper class?

From what I've seen while debugging there is no custom code hit. That was the first thing I checked.

Yep, looks pretty much like this is standard behavior.

In addition to check that I used LCS issue search but can't find any similar issues documented there... I also saw (checked for references to the class InventCostClosing) that the sync logic is not there for a long time. I'd suggest you to get in touch with your var/isv or directly log an issue with Microsoft. I still think that it's very weird to drop-create the sp and don't see a good reason for that...

@kevin did you manage to resolve the issue? i am having same issue on different environments

We must have fixed it because we don’t have the issue anymore. It was 6 years ago so I don’t remember how it was resolved. My apologies.
