Dynamics AX R3 DIXF and Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.DMF.ServiceProxy

Hello all,

I've been searching for solutions to this problem, and tried all that seem relevant to my problem with no success, and am hoping the community can help. 

I'm trying to use DIXF to import items. 

However, when I click Data import export framework > Area page >  Data import/export parameters, and then click the "validate" button I get the following error:

System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.DMF.ServiceProxy.DMFServiceReference.ExceptionData]: DMF1942 (Fault Detail is equal to Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.DMF.ServiceProxy.DMFServiceReference.ExceptionData).

I was able to get more info from the debugger, and it is as follows:

    Hi Tony,

    If all components are installed properly and the connection test is succesful, then I would suggest to create a ticket for Microsoft Support.

    Hi André,

    Yes I can confirm the DIXF client component is installed on the machine where I am also starting the AX client.

    Hi Tony,

    My question was if the DIXF client component is installed on the machine where you also start the AX client. Can you comment on that?

    Hi André,

    Yes I started the client.  

    It's when I click Data import export framework > Area page >  Data import/export parameters, and then click the "validate" button I get the error shown in the original post.

    Did you also start the AX client on the SQL server or another machine?

    Hi André,

    My issue is not resolved, the previous most recent activity was that I was asked if the DIXF client component was installed on the client server, to which I explained that the client component is installed on the server running SQL server since it is a test environment with only two servers.

    In this scenario the server running SQL is also the client machine (as it is a test environment), so the DIXF client component is installed there.

    Yes I have verified that the DIXF service is running.
