Account Schedule formulas

I have created an account schedule for a P & L statement by inserting my chart of accounts and inserted lines for sub total e.g. total revenue. The Totaling Type column is showing as posting accounts for the G/L numbers and Formula for the inserted line. Under the totaling column I have listed the rows to be sub totaled, but when I run the overview the subtotal is only picking up the first revenue account in the group.

I did a similar sub total for Cost of Sales accounts and that sub total is working.

What do I need to check to fix this?

    Hi Pouj

it depends on how you set up your formula, which I think would be the issue here, can you post the screenshot or formula here?. Personally I would use 'Totaling Type' as 'Total Accounts', rather than Formula, especially if you only want the sum of specific accounts

    Hi,

to insert the screenshot / picture, use 'Rich Text formatting' when replying, and click on 'Insert/Edit Media'

    Hi Robertas,

Once again thank you for your help.

Here are two screen shots the first is the account schedule with the formula and the second is the result when I do the overview....

    Thanks,

    John

Thanks for screenshots, that explains the issue. When setting up Row numbers, make them all the same length, that is, instead of '10' it should be '010', '20' -> '020' etc. Then formula '010..100' will work correctly. It's all to do how NAV sorts numbers that are actually strings (that is you can name Rows 'A', 'B', etc.)

    Hope that helps.

    Hi John,

there isn't anything obvious, but the most common cause is having a Row No. somewhere else in the accounts schedule that falls under the formula range, like 31, 420, 55000, etc.

    Hi Robertas,

Thank you for your reply. I will need to review the list.

Could it be due to the fact that the account numbers are not in sequence?

    Thanks,

    John

Probably. The rows are sorted by internal number (so it stays where you insert it, as opposite to COA that sorts by 'No.'), so the row number can be situated not in a sequence.
