Dear Community,

Is NAV 2013 R2 compatibile with TLS 1.2?

Do you have any documentation for NAV 2013 R2 and TLS 1.2 for web services?

Thank you

It is. In addition to what Maneesha wrote, you can refer to Walkthrough: Configuring Web Services to Use SSL:

    Hi and thank you both,

We already have TLS 1.0 and the services running. I understood that TLS1.0 and TLS1.2 do not interoperate.  If the same protocol is not supported by both parties, the parties must negotiate a common protocol to communicate successfully.

In Maneesha's link we have this statement: "This can allow certain applications that were built to use the WinHTTP default flag to be able to leverage the newer TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.1 protocols natively without any need for updates to the application." - we know NAV 2013 R2 can use SSL and TLS1.0 - but in case of an upgrade to TLS 1.2, will it function correctly? Will it use the new TLS 1.2?

    Thank you

We just ran into this as well however the problem was slightly different.  On a new Server 2016 server with SQL 2016 installed, the customer's IT administrator had disabled ssl 1,2,3 and tls1.0.  As a result the nav 2013 r2 dev client would not connect (cu41 48068).  Once we enabled TLS 1.0 again, the dev client worked fine.

Specifically does NAV 2013 r2's dev client support TLS 1.1 or 1.2, is there a later CU required maybe?
