    Hi Asif,

Do you have duplicate detection rules enabled?

If not, D365 does not detect duplicate records, which will create duplicate records when importing records.

If you want to turn on duplicate detection rules, follow these steps:

Go to Advanced SettingsData ManagementDuplicate Detection Rules.

Select the rules for Account and click the Publish button.

If you need to create a new duplicate detection rule, click the New button to create it.

After you publish the duplicate detection rules, then import accounts, duplicate records will not be created.

If I understand correctly, you imported a csv or excel file using the import wizard right? You see new records getting created instead of existing records being updated?

My question is how did you create the imported file? There are two things to keep in mind, if what you are importing are all new records, then you can create the xlsx or csv file with the appropriate format and import it, on the other hand, if you need to update existing records in addition to creating new ones, you should start with an exported excel file from crm and add your new records to the bottom of of the record list. This way, what needs to be updated will be updated, what needs to be created will be created
