GP 2013 Budget Macro Extremely Slow now

All of a sudden our Dynamics GP budget Macro which has about 171 time entries and 20 expense entries is running at a snails pace.  It would take 1 minute to run previously and now it takes 45 minutes.  The SQL server is running like a champ and I have watched the profiler, activity monitor, and resource monitor and nothing even close to an issue on the performance end is occurring.  I have ran the budget macro from many different machines all the same response.

What can I look at to investigate this issue?

    Hi Paul,

If you enter the transaction manually, does it go fast? A macro, if it's a Dynamics GP macro is simply a keyboard replicator. There is no reason I can think of that would cause it to be slower than typing it in yourself. Has anyone changed the macro. I'm guessing that you aren't talking about a GP Macro.

What kind of macro are you running? What kind of budget are you populating?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

I have a ticket open with MS, I have outside consultants looking at it, no one can figure it out.  Its a GP macro file.  You go to Play --> and then point to the macro file.

Have you tried to manually enter a transaction in GP?

Yes but thats not a good indication takes about the same amount of time to manually do it fast.

    Hi Paul,

Any chance someone accidentally turned on SQL logging in the dex.ini file and forgot to switch it off? I haven't tried it but I imagine having it enabled while executing a lengthy macro could cause performance issues.

    Good luck!

I figured it out after 2 weeks which was terrible for us.  Anyway someone created the fiscal year 2800 on accident so it had to process 800 years each line.

Wow! How did you end up tracking this down?

One of the weirdest cases I have ever heard of

Glad you got it resolved finally.
