Hi All,

After restoring the database backup I get the following error when I open the form

I got a similar error displaying

"Unable to create ActiveX control"

"Exprint chart ActiveX control" but this was corrected when I install Exprint control from

http://www.exontrol.com/exprint.jsp

But even if I install ExG2antt control from http://www.exontrol.com/exg2antt.jsp

still I get the error message shown above.

Thanks in advance.

    The error indicates

    "Unable to create ActiveX control"

    "ExG2antt Chart ActiveX Control".

Once you completed the ExG2antt installation, have you placed the .ocx file in the AX program files client folder?

    Hi Hariharan,

There was no .ocx file in the installation.

Hariharan has a good point with saying that somehow you have not registered/placed the required components in the correct place.

If you are cloning environments, which have custom components that do not come with Standard AX like those ActiveX controls, you should have a documentation somewhere which explains what AX components and what custom components should be installed/placed/registered in what order.

First try to find that installation and deployment documentation and/or the folder from which the AX install kit came from, the extra files required are normally around there.

If you cannot locate the above, then I would recommend to check and compare your source environment against what you are trying to start up now file-by-file in the AX folders to see and guess what is missing. Also take a look at the Global Assembly Cache (GAC - usually in %windir%\assembly) and see what components are registered in there in your source/target environment.

Also check your customization which is supposed to use those ActiveX components whether it is your own code changes, or if it came from an ISV solution. In the latter case they must also provide a setup guide.

Since this is your customization which you have trouble with, we will not be able to provide much more help than take a look around your document repository and installation file shares.
