Hi all,

Can anybody help me to set the position values of an employee to a desired number or format.

In the below the next position is from 000110 but i want the next position is to be from 000170.

I am unable to find the number sequence in organisation administration.

It is very simple, if you are not able to find particular number sequence code. Please goto Organization -> Common-> Number sequence

Please filter the name field with value *position* , you will get  number sequence code for position like  (basis_4) and edit change the next number sequence to 170.

Note: if you cannot see number sequence yet, you may need to run a job to load sequences for this module.

    Thank you Roy&Sohaib...

How to call a numbersequence through X++ code. i.e, I want to assign position to an employee whose id is hts001...

for sure there are ways to assign number sequence by code.

there will be no benefit of doing that, as already code for getting next number would be there on HCMPostion.. forms

so why you want to re-write code to get new number?

is issue in number sequence format or what? please rephrase issue

No actually i want to assign positions to many employees, so I want to call numbersequnce for next number(no change in next number)instead of  creating position every time manually..

you can get next number in two ways, as you can see here

Yet, I am not sure where the story is going, as it stated from setting up a number sequence format and probably changing to getting a sequence by code

This number sequence setup is found at Human resources > Setup > Parameters > Human resources shared parameters:

Why do you even wan't this to be a number sequence (automatic). A position hierarchy displaying only numbers which the default position view does, doesn't say much. Isn't it better to assign this manually with the same ID as the job?
