Nesting License Plates in AX

Is there any information on how to configure the WMS in AX 2012 R3 or Dynamics 365 for operations so that a user can nest license plate numbers (LPN's)? I have seen some documentation on cross-docking, but that is not what I am looking for.

Essentially, I am trying to ship multiple cases from a manufacturing site within AX. Each case will contain an LPN. I then want all LPN's on a single pallet to be nested onto a single LPN for that pallet.

When the pallet is received at the distribution center in AX, I want the user to scan the parent LPN and have AX receive all child LPN's on the cases automatically. When moving the goods around the warehouse (i.e. for putaway), we would use the parent LPN. However, we would like to be able to scan the child LPN's when picking sales orders if possible.

Hi Guy. Do you know of anyone who has customized work templates to work with nested licence plates? containerization pocess doesnt really do the trick if i , for example, want to create inventory movement by template , to move nested licence plates. it really is a tough cookie. i would like to group and split work by "parent licence plate" and also have the menu item configured to system grouping , grouping field "Parent Licence Plate Id" .

it is interesting to see the WHSworkTrans has parent licence plate as a field. so by the looks of it, someone had the idea to implement this feature.

I tried using Movement by template to move a Parent LP created by the License plate build function, but I only get an Invalid license plate message. I guess only Movement can be used to move Parent LPs built in this way.

I am currently working on an implementation where it would have been useful to be able to nest Target LPs which were staged in the sales picking process, but the size of the modification was prohibitively large, and we didn't go ahead with it.

Do you mind sharing how you customization came out? We are also in need of the ability to move multiple license plates between warehouses.
