    Hi Saf,

    Adjust Cost item entries finds the true delayed value of the item purcahsed and adjusts the cost of the item in inventory or in COGS.

    Adjust cost prices allows the uplifting of the items cost value with regards to last direct, or standard, as well as the actual unit price of the item. This changes it on the card and does not affect inventory or COGS.

    Check this link: forum.mibuso.com/.../adjust-item-cost-price-vs-adjust-cost-item-entries

    Hope it helps.

    As Naresh mentioned this has been discussed in other forums, please do use below link to get more details : forum.mibuso.com/.../adjust-item-cost-price-vs-adjust-cost-item-entries

    Adjust Cost Item Entries - As name itself mention, this process report will adjust the cost of the item in the inventory or in the COGS.

    Adjust Item Cost/Prices - Once you select the report, system ask to pick several options for you (Adj : Item Card or SKU), which means system will only adjust the Item Card or SKU level and will not affect the GL.

    **I suggest you run through some scenarios, read the manuals and read the help.

    Hi Saf

    1. Adjust Cost - Item Entries for

    The batch job adjusts inventory values in value entries so that you use the correct adjusted cost for updating the general ledger and so that sales and profit statistics are up to date. The cost adjustment forwards any cost changes from inbound entries, such as those for purchases or production output, to the related outbound entries, such as sales or transfers. It may be relevant after posting any inventory transaction, but mostly in connection with:

    * inbound transactions

    * item charges

    * finishing production orders

    * inventory revaluation

    The Adjust Cost - Item Entries batch job processes only value entries that have not yet been adjusted. If the batch job encounters a situation where changed inbound costs need to be forwarded to associated outbound entries, the batch job does this by creating new adjustment value entries, which are based on the information in the original value entries but contain the adjustment amount. The program uses the posting date of the original value entry in the adjustment entry, unless that date is in a closed inventory period. In that case, the program uses the starting date of the next open inventory period. If inventory periods are not used, the date in the Allow Posting From field of the General Ledger Setup window will define when the adjustment entry is posted.

    The costing method on each item card determines how the program calculates the adjustment. You can read more about costing methods under Costing Method.

    The batch job does not update the general ledger automatically unless the you have selected Automatic Cost Posting in the inventory setup. To update the general ledger manually, you must run the  Post Inventory Cost to G/L batch job.

    2. Adjust Item Cost/Prices for

    This batch job is used to adjust several fields (Last Direct Cost, Standard Cost, Unit Price, Profit % and Indirect Cost %) on the item or stockkeeping unit cards. For example, you can change Last Direct Cost by 5% on all items from a specific vendor. The changes are processed immediately when the batch job is started. The fields on the item card that are dependent on the adjusted field are also changed.

    Note:

    This batch job cannot be used to change alternative unit prices or direct unit costs. You can change unit prices by using the Suggest Item Price on Wksh. or the Suggest Sales Price on Wksh. batch job.

    If you want to include more information, on the Item tab you can select additional fields to be included in your report. To do this, press F3, click the AssistButton and then select the relevant field(s).

    Thanks

    Indika
