Hi,

I'm trying to connect windows client installed (WITHOUT clickonce) on my laptop to the server instance of Dynamics NAV 2016 Demo deployed on Azure Virtual Machine.

I'm successfully connecting to the database server on Development Environment.

Neither VM, nor my PC connected to any domain.

The firewall is turned off and all endpoints are added to VM.

I'm getting following error

"A server was not found at "net.tcp://dynnav-56u4ddxz.cloudapp.net:7046/DynamicsNAV90/Service". Either the URL is incorrect of the server is currently not available."

    Have you tried this?

Also, check the server name - it should be full name of SQL server.

Yes, I saw that question, but none of the answers helped to resolve the issue.

    Hi,

Is NAV working fine while working on Azure machine directly?

Are you able to connect the same environment from another PC?

Which authentication type are you using?

    Regards,

    Vishal Salot

Please make sure the service is running, and also double check the endpoints on the VM, the below endpoints

    • HTTP 80
    • HTTPS 443
    • Client 7046
    • Soap 7047
    • Odata 7048

    Hi Vishal,

NAV windows client on VM is working perfect.

I tried to connect from another VM which has same account name and password as on VM with NAV server and it works.

So I thought the problem is in authentication and changed Credential Type on the NAV server from "Windows" to "UserName".

But the server fails to restart after that. Only changing credential type to "Windows" again starts the NAV server without problems.

What should I do to start the server with Credential Type set to "UserName"?

    Kind regards,

    Shageldi
