Prerequisite failed during installation of Async Client

Hi All,

I am installing "Retail POS, Async Client & Retail Channel Database Configuration Utility" on a client machine.

But I am stuck on the validation and it says "Hotfix for windows powershell (KB2701373) is missing".

I have downloaded and installed it but the error still exists.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this error?

I have restart the machines several time but nothing working.

On which Operating system you are trying to install Retail Components ?

Hi Hassan,

I am experiencing the same issue on the client's point-of-sale.

I've installed the Microsoft Dynamics AX Retail components on the client point-of-sale terminal which has a Windows 7 Professional 32-bit operating system and have encountered an issue during the Microsoft Dynamics AX Prerequisites - same as yours. Then I have clicked on the “link” (i.e. support.microsoft.com/.../2701373) and installed the KB2701373 hotfix on the point-of-sale environment and clicked on the “Revalidate” windows to revalidate the prerequisites. Once clicked the “Revalidate” button, the same issue occurred. It seems that for some reason the hotfix was not applied. I have tried to restart the machine several times and to download and install the latest Windows Updates, however unfortunately enough the same error occurred.

Then I have tried to re-apply the hotfix, and a message was shown on the screen stating the “Hotfix for Windows (KB2701373) is already installed on this computer”. I also checked the Windows Installed Updates to verify that the KB2701373 is listed as an installed hotfix, and it was there so for the operating system the hotfix was being shown as installed, while for the AX 2012 R3 prerequisite screen, the hotfix was not applied.

Please note that the same installation procedure have worked on a Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit environment and the hotfix was installed successfully.

Hi Manish,

Yes I have restarted the computer several times. I have also tried to download all the pending Windows Updates, however the same issue occurred.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I think Before installing hot fix you have to install power shell
to install powershell on Windows 7 follow instructions in below link
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/scripting/setup/installing-windows-powershell#bkmk_installingonwindows7andwindowsserver2008r2.

Thanks for sharing your thought as i have researched ,system will not allow to install channel database in windows 7.So we should install channel utility and create the channel DB.This will works

I am also facing the same issue.

It says Hot fix already installed if I try to install the same.

Restart also did not help me.

Any valuable suggestion Guys?
