Instant lottery inventory and tracking

Does anyone have any suggestion or know of any add-on to RMS to allow tracking of Instant lottery ticket sales and inventory.

We currently track the instant sales by tracking ticket numbers at the start and end of each day for each type of instant tickets, then multiply the difference in number to the ticket unit price then add all of them for total sale of the day.

In our POS we had created an Lottery department with instant ticket category and allows cashier to enter instant sales, but it is a non-inventory so tracking inventory is not done by RMS and performed manually.

Ideally we would like to utilize the serial number and bar code on the lottery tickets and keep track of the sales that way. Any suggestions or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

We use RMS Item Type of Serial. Serialized Item tab becomes enabled. Add the ticket numbers, they are all serialized, with starting number and total count. Very fast. Now when they are sold, they are tracked. Missing serials will be very visible. Barcode scanner can be setup to scan them at the register with an Add On, or just create one item lookup code, that is serial, pop it, then choose the serial number. Hi Jay

Firstly many resellers have writen add-ons to resolve gaps in the Microsoft RMS. These add-ons are not expensive but do have a great value. If people suggest that you buy add-ons that resolve your problem they are doing a service by letting you know. This does not mean you have to buy if you do not want to.

Secondly if you are current with your Microsoft Enhancement Plan contact your reseller and you can obtain our Store Utility FREE of charge. This utility has several features one of which is to allow assignment of Special Serial Number to Non Inventory Items.

Jay is right, I'm a long time partner and I agree.

Anyway,

the lottery cards can be set as serialized items, and you can scan the serial number in at the time of sale.

(RTFM).

No need to scan each one beforehand, no need for an add on.
