At the GP User Group Event, we disclosed the updated roadmap and product strategy with moving to a yearly release cadence based on feedback from the community. (You're welcome.)
You can see and download the slides here: https://doc.co/XVQJGT/GFj46s
Here are a few comments on the roadmap and future product strategy and direction:
- The functionality in the next release will predominately come from the community, please go to connect.microsoft.com to enter in your feedback on what you want in the next release.
- GP 2016 R2 will ship December 1. You can expect the next release to be in this same timeframe next year, 2017.
- The new releases will be still on a agile development, so we are deciding features as we go. Development has already started.
Dynamics GP 2016 R2 will ship in a couple weeks (Dec 1). Along with that several pieces of collateral like the capabilities guide will be available. I encourage all of you to take a look at the new release. Keep in mind we just had GP 2016 release six months ago, so if you haven't kept up you will need to look at that too.
The Support Team has their schedule of deeper dive videos here for GP 2016 R2: https://community.dynamics.com/gp/b/dynamicsgp/archive/2016/11/11/microsoft-dynamics-gp-2016-r2-new-feature-blog-series-schedule
Year End Updates have already been posting for a while. If aren't already you should follow this blog to get more technical details on Dynamics GP.
I noticed the YE Tax Updates for GP 2013 & 2015 were released today. GP 2016 was not. Are you waiting to include it with R2 or will it be released prior to R2. I have a 130 db client wanting to apply it over Thanksgiving.
GP 2016 is planned to ship. We ran into an issue and working to resolve it before the holiday if possible.
