For whatever reason, and only in Financial --> Account Maintenance, the VCR buttons in the bottom left corner of the screen are not visible. Users were using a modified screen for this task, so I checked on it in modifier and the buttons are there and set to visible.
Thinking it was something wrong with that particular modified screen, I set all users back to the default account maintenance screen, but the buttons were still missing.
Taking it one step further, the same problem exists after migrating the data to our 'test' GP 2013 system that we will be migrating to live shortly.
Is there a security setting that prevents users from navigating through accounts using the VCR buttons? I'm out of ideas...
Is the issue happening to SA as well? On all companies including Fabrikam?
Please let me know if you have further questions regarding this.
Tristan Thor A. Clores
Thanks for the response. I have found that the issue is not happening in the Fabrikam company. I have confirmed this is the case for both the SA and an non-SA user.
Sorry to bother, but I am still experiencing this issue. Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?
Is it possible that Field-Level Security has been set up to hide these buttons?

Thanks for the response Leslie. We don't have Field Security enabled in our system, but I enabled it just so I could verify that there was no security currently in place.
It's the strangest thing.....we have a couple of 'copies' of our live company - one is missing the buttons, just like in the live company, the other has them???
You are not using Field level security.
Your window is customized, and you have check through modifier and confirmed that buttons are there and set to visible.
Let do things stepwise. :)
One thing is confirmed that window is customized. Is it dexterity customization or Modifier?
If Dexterity customization then do one thing. close Account maintenance window.
Browse the following path and open Customization status window.
Find out your product and disable it.
After doing that open Account Maintenance window and check if you can view buttons or not?
Because even if visibility are set to TRUE, and form level trigger can hide/show them when window get open, and since you are saying it is happening to some company and not on other company then may be there are company specific triggers running.
Waiting to know your findings.
Thank you for the detailed procedure Almas. After disabling the customization for a third party add-on, I was able to see the buttons again! Now I need to see why they are not showing for this particular window, but at least I know what the problem is. Thanks again!
That's nice. :)
With the 'bad' window open select to modify current window, that will open up modifier with the alternate window in the AOGPP dictionary showing.
I've seen this behavior with Binary Stream's Multi Entity Management installed. Reported it as a bug to them about a year ago and don't know if it's been fixed.

Didn't get your point Leslie.
AOGPP was just an example, to show JKATULKA how to disable third party product.
I think Leslie is trying to point the root cause.
1. Open the modified window in AOGPP, where the buttons are not available.
2. On this window, go to Tools >> Customize>>Modify Current Window.
3. See that buttons are Removed/Invisible/Moved out of the window, to know why these buttons are not available.

may be but as he mentioned.
>>Users were using a modified screen for this task, so I checked on it in modifier and the buttons are there and set to visible.
Hi, But a modified screen from which dictionary?
Leslie, I see your point. :)
I hope they are not doing a mistake by using multiple modified dictionaries, it usually creates a problem.
