I attempted to void a cheque today, using "Void Historical Transactions" and then "Void Open Transactions" as usual. When I went to "Series Post" my void cheque wasn't shown in the window. Does anyone have any idea why the cheque wouldn't have shown up in "Series Post?" Thanks for any help you can give me.
Are you looking at Series Post in the Financial Module?
When you void an historical check it is similar to an online transactional post. It does not appear in series post in payables. It should be sitting as a transaction under Transactions->Financial->General. If you do a vendor transaction inquiry you should see it sitting there as a voided check.

I am looking for it in the "Series Post" in the Financial Tab. There is nothing in the box at all. I just checked the payables transaction inquiry and it shows there as INV and a PMT, nothing there shows it as being voided.
I have looked again in "Void Historic Transactions" and "Void Open Transactions" and the cheque doesn't show there either.
Sounds like the void never happened or you voided the wrong document. Try to void it again. It would not hurt to do this while no is in GP and you can run a backup. Try running an AP trial balance first to see if any payables have appeared for either this vendor or another vendor.
Can you attach the screenshot for the voided transaction inquiry window?
Also check the Posting setup(Tools-->Setup-->Posting-->Posting) for Void Historical Transaction in Purchasing series.
If the "Post Through General Ledger Files" option is marked then, no batch created for financial series post.

I had trouble attaching the screenshot to this message, but it did look exactly like the screenshot you provided except that "If Existing Batch" was ticked "Create New" instead of "Append." I can't verify that these were the settings when I attempted to void the cheque because the controller for our company did some investigating yesterday and I know she changed some settings somewhere in the program.
Is there any way of ever finding that void cheque again? Or will it just require an adjustment to the GL at the end of the fiscal year?
