We're in the midst of our GP implementation. I would love to be able to copy a "production" (of course, we're not really in production yet) company into a test company for testing and maybe training. Should we do the following?
Can anyone help me out with acceptable procedures, and please stop me from make huge mistakes? Lol.
That will work well IF you do not have manufacturing and only SA will be logging into the test company.
If you need other users, after you create the new blank company, give those users access to the test company.
If you have manufacturing, you need a script to set the company ID properly in the test company tables. Shoot me your email address to email@example.com and I will send you the script (It is provided by MS).
Thanks again Richard. I'd love to have that script. I'll send you an email shortly.
I faced problem in General Journal for entering Intercompany transaction ,after running SQL Script it resolve issue.
KB KB872370 is explained how to create Test Company with production Data with SQL Script is also available.
Thanks for the heads up Sandip. I'll check it out for sure.
