I trying to get a RapidStart export of a certain table.
Problem is, I am missing the info that shows what links are present for each field.
For example, when I do a export of all contact cards, I want to see as well the Links that each contacts are linked to:
It has the fields: Link Address , Description, Created (Date), User IDI want to be able to manipulate these information en bulk as well.
Can anyone let me know if this is possible with RapidStart? Which table do I look for (if there is one)?
Links are stored in Table 2000000068 - Record Link of Type = Link.
To Export this data out or Update that data it will require C/AL Code. Rapid Start cannot be used to export and modify the data as its a system table which is not supported by RapidStart.
Many thanks for your assistance.
Thats a bummer - I have a requirement to place links en bulk to a list of items (eg contacts).
Do you know of a way a non-programmer like myself can accomplish this rather than a manual operation?
Create a Table in 50000 Range & try to copy from 2000000068 to your new table. Now you can able to add this new table in RS.
I would not sugget to copy data in a 50000 Table and do any changes in that data.
Record Link table is specifc for Links and Notifications so dont try to update it manually. The Only Way is using a batch and here is how it will work -
1. You will update your actual records in the table (lets say Contacts) using RapidStart.
2. Then Create an Excel/text file which contains two things - Primary Key field value of table (No. in case of contact table), table number and Link address.
3. Create a batch in NAV which read that file and then insert the record in Record Link table in a batch. (Ask your partner to develop this).
With these three steps you will be able to acheive what is required.
