I'm new to D365 application.
I referred D365 latest sales guide & it has updated all accessible functionalities for team member user.
What is the best method to check those functions by assign in a team member license?
Assume team member user try to create an opportunity in the system. How does the system warn when the user doesn't have rights to do such functions? Any warning message or do we need to set permission from user management?
Thanks in advance!
You will have to create new security roles which are aligned with Team Member license. So that you dont violate the licensing guidelines.
Assign the new security roles to any user with TM license.
Thank you for your reply. I have a few more concerns hope you would help me on that,
1. Do we have pre-defined security roles in D365 sales app for a team member or we need to create security roles from scratch based on the functionalities?
Example 1:- let's assume I want to give maximum access to a team member user based on the team member functionalities of MS license guide, what are the pre-defined (Standard) security roles for that?
Example 2:- If a team member wants to assign following features, what are the standard security roles for that.
2. What happens if the administrator didn't assign proper security roles to a team member & team member user work other functionalities which are not allowed to use on his license?
Ex:- Team member create & update Opportunities in the D365 sales app
Currently team member license users do not have a dedicated security role.
1. You could build the security role based on the Salesperson.
Salesperson has read permissions for all sales entities and most core records, which suits your needs.
As for other permissions to create, write, and delete, you need to limit them according to the requirements of the team member license.
2. This would violate the license agreement and could get you into serious trouble.
