when selecting the first of the n works, why does the system immediately ask me to insert a license plate?
I would have expected the system to let me put all the works and then ask me to pick the license plate.
If in the same location, I have n license plates that satisfy my requirements is it possible that the system will suggest me the license plate to be pick?
When I insert the work ID
When selecting the first of the n works, why the system immediately request the license plate?
I would have expected the system to let me put all the works and then ask me to pick the license plate
Below is the setup:
1. Set the number of cluster positions > 1. The reason why I was using "1" ;) is because I only had 1 work through one consolidated wave for multiple orders.
2. No it will not suggest a LP to pick. It doesn't make sense: the system does not manage relative positions, which pallet is in front of which one etc. The worker comes and takes what's in front of him/her.
Thank you for your answer.
Hi Eugen, thanks for the reply.
I don't agree your second point :)
I'll give you an example.
If I had two LPs in my BULK-001:
LP0001: QTY 40 ea
LP0002: QTY 100 ea
and my requirement is 40 ea.
In my opinion the system should propose me to pick the first LP (LP0001).
Do you agree?
Ok. The location directive selects the location, not the pallet. In the above example the system will suggest BULK-001 because it contains an appropriate pallet, but not the pallet itself.
For the appropriate location to be suggested,
1) in the middle part of the "Pick" location directive ("Lines") the first line must be
1 .. 99 PAL - Restrict by unit(PAL)
2) The standard quantity for PAL in the unit conversions must be PAL = 40 ea
This is how you select predominantly full pallets. An attempt to just pick the smallest or the "most appropriate" quantity = the same as the picking quantity will not work either, AFAIK.
I am afraid, your chances to embed any artificial intelligence are nil. Rely on the human intelligence :)
