Hi , We have products phasing out and followed up by new products, Is it possible to use an effective date and trigger to order the new item code when we runout of stock of the old one ?
You need to manually stop the item in the default order setting of released product, please refer to my screenshot.
Hi Mattguo . Thanks for the reply. I have already started using this function which helps to block for procurement and inventory , But any new requirements for the old part number cannot be linked to the replacement part number. As an example , item A was replaced by B. Future demands from 01/10/2019 should automatically passed to item B . This is available in SAP and it has been very useful in the past to manage inventory during product obsolescence management new product launches . Thanks
If SAP can do that in a better/smoother way then we need to get this 'fixed' :-)
Would you be so kind and provide a brief description of what you miss exactly in D365FO here (experience.dynamics.com/.../) to let MS know and implement this in future releases?
Many thanks for your help.
Not sure if it covers fully your requirement, but it is possible to setup alternative items on the released product and when to use them (always, no on-hand).
Hi Andre , Is alternative part and stock considered during MRP ?
Please refer to blogs.sap.com/.../ for SAP functionality. This is very useful for inventory management.
This alternative item setup is used when a sales order is created. At To-Increase, we do offer an add-on for Product Engineering. This tool helps you achieving your requirement. You can setup effective dates and there are some tools helping you getting insights when an old part is running out of stock. www.to-increase.com/.../product-engineering18
