Hi, in AX v4 HR you can create a new employee and assign him/her to an Organisation / Organisation Unit which is essentially a department. On the form you then give the employee a Role (Position/title).
Can anyone please advise if there is an Organisation field in AX2012 HR as i haven't been able to find it? Has it been replaced in AX2012 by Areas of Responsibility found in HR > Setup?
Also is there a way for emplyees to switch companies within AX2012 and be assigned a new position (inter company employee transfer)?
In Organisation Administration there is something called Internal Organisations but i think this is far removed from HR functionality? Please comment!
In AX 2012 you have the Department field on the Position. One or more positions will be assigned to a user. So this is in a way how the the Organization unit is implemented.
The worker table in AX 2012 is globally shared. A worker is linked to an legal entity with an employment. Per company you can determine if the worker employment is an employee or contractor. You can assign more than one employment on a worker.
Also a worker can have multiple positions. One position will be the primary.
In AX 2012 in the HRM menu you have an option to create and maintain Departments. This is an Internal organization of the type Department. So in fact the Internal organization framework is used in the HRM by means of the Departments.
Andre, many thanks for reply.
