Here in our company we are trying to generate reports(customized and standard) of date range between 30 days or 7 days, but it is taking very long time and not at all printing even for 1 day trans also, can any one please tell me what will be the problem,if i run the same report in test system which is 20 days back data it is coming fine
You will have to measure where the problem lies. For example, is database server busy when generating these reports? Or is it waiting for a resource to get available? Or is it the AOS who slows things down? There are so many possible problems; just guessing without measuring is rarely successful.
If I should check a single thing only, it would be the shape of your indexes in database.
Thanks for reply,if at all i am running that report with duplicate company it is fetching data fine, and in test system also i am getting data, the problem i am facing is when going with live company
I suggest you to :
1- Check with SQL Profiler the slow queries
2- Debug a slow report and try to figure out where coming the issue
