Perhaps my question is fairly simple but, is it possible to fully exclude certain warehouses from being used in automatic reservations?
Reason for this is the fact that we have multiple warehouses and some (like our sample warehouse (this houses some older batch numbers and it's often the victim of an automatic reservation) or goods waiting to be cleared by customs) should never be used when making reservations within the system. I am aware of it being possible to set a standard warehouse per customer but I was wondering if there's any other way (perhaps from the reservations point of view) to get to where I want to go.
I also assume that if a customer places an order and the item is not in stock in the default warehouse it reverts back to automatically reserving by FIFO standards?
Thank you for your time and/or answers!
Customer order will not reserve materials which are in quarantine warehouse. However you have to do multiple setups to get this get working. Another option is go with customization to identify the warehouse which should not be considered in reservation
Use quarantine warehouses for the warehouses you don't want to automatic reservation to hit.
Following this post, I create a quarantine type warehouse to avoid sales orders doing automatic reservations in it, but they are still automatically reserving batch numbers that have been transferred to the QT warehouse, is there any other configuration required? I'm doing this in D365 now
