I am having an issue where there is reduced performance when viewing Purchase Contracts, and slows down further when executing tasks in the Quantity tab of a contract. The quantities match fine (when the table finally refreshes - it can take up to a few minutes!) and there aren't any apparent conflicts of data in the table itself.
Just seems odd that it's isolated to these tables; sales contracts are unaffected.
I'm still fairly new to AX - any steps in diagnosing or troubleshooting the issue would be appreciated. Likewise, I'll be happy to provide information if it's needed.
It can have multiple causes. E.g. missing indexes or poor SQL server maintenance. But also some others, but the mentioned causes are likely your issue. Can you find someone to verify missing indexes and how the SQL maintenance (e.g. index optimaliztions) are managed?
Lately I've found updating statistics regularly solves problems like this.
Since you're on AX 4.0, if you have many companies and they are lop-sided (some much bigger than others), consider enabling the parameter sniffing flag in SQL Server (trace flag 4199).
