Hello I have a query regarding the Material request journal , it is not displaying for a particular user even after creating and approving it , but is working fine for other users , what could be the potential issue kindly help me out with this ..(AX4.0)
Is your material request journal part of an ISV solution?
A common option why this might occur are personalizations.
Have you already tried resetting the usage data of the user affected?
Hello Ludwig , I tried resetting the user usage data but it isn't working unfortunately , is there anything else I could do , I'd appreciate if you could reply back . Thanks
Does this user have different user rights compared to the other users that can see the journal?
Hi Ludwig ,
I have checked the user seem to have all the rights same as all other users , I'm not sure why the user is not able to see the journal , just want to know tho where could I check if the user is able to see the journal , I don't know much about Ax since I'm new to it , I'd appreciate if you could kindly help me out . Thanks you sir
Hello Mukesh Bisht,
What you can check is the following:
1. reset the usage data of the user that has problems to see the journal.
2. give the user that has problems to see the journal temporary system admin rights to verify whether this makes a difference and to find out whether this might be a user right related problem.
Hi Mukesh Bisht,
In this case, please get into contact with a developer who can debug the issue to find the underlying issue.
Is it not working for this person on all computers or did he try it only on one? You can try to find cache files on the local machine and delete them (*.auc). They should be located in the C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data folder.
How would deleting cache files help resolve the issue?
I just checked the table in the back end where the these journals are stored but couldn't find any journal created by that specific user , which most probably means the the user is not able to create and approve the journals , just want to know are the these journals being stored in some other table and if so how can I check where are the coming from , this is really getting annoying now , kindly help me out with this please!
In what exact form or table do you have these 'Material request journal'? Is it a certain name for an inventory or general journal? You can check if there is a setting on the journal name where it is private for a user group. If so, check if the user is part of this user group.
