We are working on upgrading from R2 to R3 and am working on testing the credit card payment process. We have a lot of orders for items that are out of stock, and so I need to test the "authorization resubmit" process, which I assume is what needs to happen when an item comes in-stock after the original authorization has expired.
I was not able to find this menu anywhere in the A/R, Call Center, Retail, or Sales & Marketing module menus. By tracing back from the A/R parameter "Number of days before expired" (CreditCardPreapprovalLastNoOfDays), I managed to find the RunBaseBatch class that does the "Authorization resubmit", and from there I found the menu item. But the menu item appears to not be used anywhere.
Does anyone know where this menu item is listed in the main menu?
Sorry for the delay in responding but I just saw this thread.
Would you be able to provide a screen shot, or any additional information you have, in regard to the menu item that you found after backtracking from the parameter field name?
Thank you in advance.
I searched all classes for the text CreditCardPreapprovalLastNoOfDays and found this:
I then looked for an action menu item called "MCRReleaseAndAuthFutureOrders", and found it. I then searched the Menus AOT object, but couldn't find anything that referred to that.
Judging by some other bugs I found in the way R3 handles credit cards, I'm guessing the whole credit card feature in R3 is half-baked. For some reason Microsoft didn't feel like it was important enough to test it out and just didn't finish it properly, and this missing menu entry for the action menu item is just another symptom of that.
Thank you for the additional information.
In taking a look, I was able to verify that this is not exposed anywhere in the application.and thus unlikely to be fully implemented.

Since MS didn't fully implement credit card processing in R3, should I look into an ISV solution instead?
If there is needed functionality missing, you could look at that as an option or possibly other partners / customers may provide other alternatives.
Just a note, per the Product Lifecycle page, Mainstream support for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 ends on 10/12/2021 and Extended support ends on 1/10/2023:

Just so you know, D365 (hosted) is prohibitively expensive for small direct-to-consumer retail businesses like ours, so it isn't really feasible for us to upgrade to the latest version. We'll be stuck on AX 2012 R3 for the foreseeable future (or switch to some other, less-expensive platform).
