We recently installed MR for AX 2009, all appears to function properly, we can create rows with selected acccounts and departments, but when we try to create a column type FD, we get a data provider framework error in the Book Code field. We do have a budget model established in AX, but cannot find any documentation that specifies the exact configuration requirements that MR is looking for. Also have similar issues with our calendar. Does MS provide any implementation guidelines outlining AX configuration requirements to ensure MR compatability?
The only requirements are listed in the AX 2009 Provider guide available to download here:
If you check the Windows Application Event log for the client or server machine you should see events for Management Reporter Report Designer or Management Reporter Service that will give a more specific error. That error will help us better understand what is going on.
AX should just work for MR, but there are a few outstanding issues, like having more than one closing period does not work right now in Management Reporter and may throw a calendar error.
I can't think of any specific problems regarding budget models, however.
Yes, thank you much, we have been through the technical specs and the data provider is configured properly with all the required sequrity access. We found our issue with the calender in the period definitions of the opening year in AX, but still no luck on the book code error.
I am having completely different issue where we were able to create a report but when we click on generate report funciton it fails.
The error message we get is An unknown error has occured while processing report.
When I look at the eventvwr this is what is and I have no clue what is going wrong here.

Any help will be highly appreciated
Have you solved this issue?
It sounds like you either have duplicate book codes with the same name, something we don't expect in the book code, or you are trying to generate a report while logged into one company with a budget that only exists in another company.
There may be additional details in the Windows Event Log.
Otherwise I would recommend contacting support and they can run a SQL Profile when creating a column or generating the report to see where the report is failing to give some ideas on the problem.
