Number of Decimals in application

Sohaib Cheema Profile Picture Sohaib Cheema 49,443 User Group Leader

Update:

Many Quantity type EDT(s) have been made extensible in recent releases of the platforms.

Original Post:

Number of decimals varies from region to region. I remember few people asking from Middle East and other countries who use more than 2 decimals.

With release of 7.3, PU12, this is possible as has been documented. Yet if you are unable to get this, please follow following procedure to do this. It is not anything special other that the EDT allows you extension now. Remaining from setup point of view, you have to follow same as in AX2012, you used to fix rounding in General Ledger.

1)     Create a Model or make sure if you have one already for App Platform

2)    Make sure its New Package and not the one for overriding.

3)    Mark [Application Platform]; this will be marked by default, If so, you don’t need to do any additional selections.

4)    Keep proceeding, by clicking Next, and Mark to create a New project. Here unmarking 2nd checkbox is your choice, which is usually annoying. I uncheck it mostly.

5)    Give any name to your Project.

6)    Open Application Explorer and right click Amount (EDT); Select Create extension.

7)    Right click the added extension, in your solution/project and change the Number of decimals as you may want.

8)    Build/Rebuild.

9)    Synchronize Database.

10)  Review your currency decimals in GL by going on Currency form and fixing your Rounding Rules as per need.

You also want to modify AmountMST as Amount and AmountMST are rooting from two different EDT(s). The extension of QTY is out of scope of this discussion and that is not supported to be extendable yet via Extensions.

Test, well, all areas of application.
