This past week, we've noticed an increase in the number of connection errors we're seeing in MR. Some of the errors are:
- The socket connection was aborted.
- Client is unable to finish the security negotiation within the configured timeout.
In these cases, ESET anti-virus was running. If the user uninstalls it, MR will work correctly. Of course, that's not a solution so users have contacted ESET support for assistance with adding an exclusion to the MR ReportDesigner.exe and the ReportViewer.exe.
So if MR has suddenly stopped working for you, and you're using ESET, you'll want set up an exclusion or contact ESET for assistance with setting up the exclusion.
