MSDyn365FO: What will happen if you enable Override outbound shipped confirmation date?
Early in this week, I was tasked to check one functionality regarding Confirm shipment/load logic.
Upon more reflection, however, it was realized there is one important setup that influence outbound shipment process.
What’s more, I had come to a conclusion that only a small group of people is aware of this parameter. So, I decided to make it clear. In this blogpost we will be talking about Override outbound shipped confirmation date flag.
Go to Transportation management > Setup >Transportation management parameters> General tab > Load fast tab
General business scenario will look like as below:
After warehouse personnel picks the items for an outbound sales order, he must verify that the item and shipping information is correct before shipping the order. Then, warehouse personnel will use the Shipment Confirmation process to verify that the inventory has left the warehouse. Sometimes it might be required to select the date when exactly inventory left the warehouse.
The Override outbound shipped confirmation date enables the ability to select the actual shipped date in case if shipment dates differ between in-fact shipment and processed shipment confirmation in the system.
If Override outbound shipped confirmation date is set to YES, while you are confirming the shipment in the system, you will see the following dialog:
Once you confirm an outbound sales order, the system advances the order to the next status. For example, an outbound sales order with a status of Loaded advances to Shipped after you confirm shipment.
The same will happen when you choose Outbound shipment on the Load form.

If Override outbound shipped confirmation date is set to NO, while you are confirming the shipment in the system, no dialog “Enter the shipped date for the load” appears.
