What is Payment Services?

We are starting to see questions on "What is Payment Services?"

Here is a brief overview for you.
Payment Services for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 is an online payment solution designed to deliver additional functionality.  It allows you to accept some of the popular payment types from within Microsoft Dynamics GP.  Payment Services was first introduced in Dynamics GP 10.0 SP5 and Dynamics GP 2010 SP1.

The diagram below illustrates the multi-channel payment capability.

There are four steps to configure credit card processing for Dynamics GP – Online Payment Services:
1. Customer signs up for Payment Services and configures Dynamics GP to process credit cards

2. Customer applies to a payment provider

3. Customer associates a partner to the Payment Services account

4. Partner activates a payment provider and configures payment methods.

Setting up Payment Services is mostly handled between the partner/customer and the payment provider chosen by the customer to process the credit card transactions.

Until Payment Services is activated and setup so that the customer can successfully process a credit card transaction through the Payment Services site successfully, we would refer you back to the payment provider to verify why the transaction did not go through, because the payment provider can look at the settings to make sure everything is correct. Microsoft Dynamics GP Support doesn’t have that ability.
