MVP Award for Business Solutions in Russia
This weekend I had learned that I was selected by Microsoft as MVP 2016 for Business Solutions.
Apart from the fact that this is a great honor for me, I was thinking that it is an interesting happening, for many reasons.
First of all, I had sold my soul to Dynamics NAV long ago. Besides I sometimes do Dynamics AX projects as well, I'm mainly dedicated to NAV. And there has been no known MVP in Dynamics NAV in Russia for some years since last MVP, famous Andrey Panko, had joined Microsoft's localization team in Denmark (assuming Mazzy turned to AX and CRM). So this is even more honorable for me to keep his legacy.
Then, honestly, I'm not that much of a technical person. Through the years I have been mainly a functional consultant rather than a developer. This Award might be a sign that within new change to cloud-based Dynamics NAV versions, when customization of standard functionality is limited and available through Extensions only, there would be more demand in the future for consultants who can explain how to use standard functionality (which has been always my credo) rather than developers who can make changes to that. We'll see soon.
My colleagues from Awara IT Solutions have always been a great support for me for more than 10 years. Thank you guys for all we did together.
I would like to say warmest words and thank you very much Microsoft and Microsoft Dynamics Community. It is a great environment that unifies numerous unique professionals which I'm proud to be a part of. I will continue doing my best to evangelize Dynamics products in my country and across the border. It is my pleasure to share knowledge with community and, visa versa, I'm learning quite a lot from community as well.
