How to delete an Organization Hierarchy future publish date

Businesses are constantly adding or updating their organization hierarchies for various reasons such as adding new stores, changing their location regions, or shifting business units.  When making these changes, you may be doing so in anticipation of a future change and thus publish the change for a future effective date.  Now if this date changes or the wrong one was entered and you try to publish a new one that occurs prior to this published future date, you will receive an error that you are unable to do so as it needs to be after the last future date that was entered.  It is possible to delete (but not change) a "published future date" so that you can re-enter this or make a new one.

To delete this record, you will need to:

1. Go to the hierarchy page (Organization administration > Organizations > Organization hierarchies > select the hierarchy in question)
2. In the Hierarchy designer and click on the circle icon on the right side for “Related information” as seen in the screenshot below.

3. Once that flyout is opened, click on the More link under Future changes.

4. If you see your future publication date record, you can simply select this and click Delete in the menu bar.
NOTE: At this time you cannot 'edit' the record to update the date.

5. If you do NOT see your record, click on the funnel in the upper right to expand the Filter bar.
6. Update the Expiration date listed to ensure it includes your published date.

7. Perform your updates to the Organization hierarchy and publish as needed.
