Terry R Heley Profile Picture Terry R Heley Microsoft Employee

As we sail into the 2024 year, Microsoft has a few straggling year-end issues we need to fix, all of this is around Canadian Payroll.

The January Hotfix is important for customers to install based on the changes that are noted in the below areas.

There are NO table changes in this update, just fixes for the product.

Dictionary Version changes in this update: Core, Project, Human Resources, Encumbrance, Canadian Payroll and VAT.

Microsoft Dynamics GP (version 18.6.1728)
MicrosoftDynamicsGP18-KB4602613-ENU.msp

MicrosoftDynamicsGP18-KB4602614-ESLA.msp

MicrosoftDynamicsGP18-KB4602615-FRCA.msp

With the 18.6.1728 January Hotfix release the following items are resolved:

If you pay your employees with Canadian Payroll, it is recommended to install the January Hotfix:

-Canadian Payroll Quebec, QPP Age limit changes for the 2024 year
- French window translation issues
-CPR XML T4 tag issue – see workaround in blog
- Canadian Payroll direct deposit CIBC bank incorrect format
- Minor Canadian Payroll tax calculation tweaks - when Pay for CA Provinces becomes greater than $50,000 the provincial amount becomes around $2 off

With the 18.6 RTM release in October 2023, there was an issue introduced with word templates.  In the January hotfix, changes were made to the upgrade to make sure this does not happen again.  It will not fix any lost templates from before, but you can use the below information as a workaround if you are running into the issue after an upgrade to 18.6 RTM or US and Canada year end update.  For any updates going forward, I would recommend using the January Hotfix code with this fix in place.
Word template issues with year-end update – upgrade issue.
